Hello!

It's been awhile since I have blogged. Yesterday, I attended the 9th Annual Bridal Expo in Hopkinsville, KY. I met some wonderful vendors and brides! I want to thank all the brides that come to our table. I so glad that I was able to share my creative work with others! I hope that I can make some awesome pieces to add that special touch to your wedding!

Family Canvas Decor

I know I have been away for a few weeks. Life has been pretty hectic! I came across a picture of something similar to this that my friend had pinned on Pinterest. I decided to try and make it myself and since my future husband said he did not want anything for his birthday I thought it would make a wonderful present/added decor for our living room.

Here is how to make it yourself:

   Supplies:
          • Canvas (one for each letter)
          • Wood letters
          • Scrapbook paper
          • Paint
          • Ribbon
          • Curtain rod
          • Mod Podge (I used glossy finish)

   Steps:
          1. Paint the sides of the canvas
          2. Sand your letters if needed
          3. Paint your letters
          4. Paint a second coat on the canvas and letters
          5. Cut the scrapbook paper to size
          6. Use Mod Podge to adhere the paper to the canvas
          7. Put a layer of Mod Podge over the paper and on the sides
          8. Mod Podge over the letters for a complete look
          9. Cut various lengths of ribbon
          10. Use a hot glue gun to attach the ribbon to the back of the canvas
          11. Use glue to attach the letter the the canvas
          12. Put the finished products on the curtain rod
          13. Hang and enjoy!

I would love for you to share your pictures if you have made one!

How to Make a Fabric Rosette {TUTORIAL}

Hello y'all! I just wanted to share where I got my idea to add the rosette fabric flowers to my refurbished picture frame as seen in my DIY Weekend Project

Here how I made them (sorry I don't have pictures):

SUPPLIES:

  • ~3″ x 22″ strip of fabric {this will make a 2″ diameter rosette} {I just cut up an old t-shirt}
  • ~approx 2″ circle of scrap fabric or felt
  • ~hot glue gun
  • ~scissors

1. Fold your fabric in half so that it measures 1.5″ x 22″ and tie a knot in one end.
2. Tuck or glue the short end of the knot to the long end.
3. Twist the fabric and begin to wrap around the knot.
4. When you reach the desired diameter of your flower, glue the end to the rest of the flower.
5. Take a scrap piece of fabric and glue it to the bottom of the flower.
6. Trim the scrap fabric to fit the flower.
7. Attach your flower to anything you wish!!
